Untouchable (A Poem By Gyanu BK)
-Gyanu BK
Every 28th
of each month
we become
untouchable
And made
an atheist
Beyond our
choice.
White
clothes become our enemy.
Red
clothes become our Best friend-
Helping us
to protect our dignity,
Giving us
license to go out.
We smell
extraordinarily unique,
Nothing
can beat this smell,
Not even
the narcotics,
WOMEN!!!
Be proud of it.
The day of
Home partition
like the
partition of India
Into India
and Pakistan in 1947.
All on one
side
ME on the
other.
Every
month we are rejected,
Every
month we are dejected,
Every
month we are isolated,
Every
month we are considered impure
Yes, every
month…!!!
They treat
us like never before,
Grand
welcome,
Feel like
we are from
Another
world,
28th
of each month,
We are
aliens.
Today Is
the day.
Day to
traverse,
Traverse
the frontier
Of
superstitious beliefs.
Cows,
buffalo, goats
are our
companion,
More kind
than humans
Sharing
the same roof
With the
Odour of their poop.
Pad more
red than red,
Symbolizes
our purity,
The more
red the pad,
The more
we are pure.
YES!!
YES!! YES!!
We are
proud of our REDNESS!!
Of our RED
DAYS!!
Of our
B-L-O-O-D
Purest
form of liquid.
